Everything you need to know about the app

Premium Contests

There is no free trial but we offer a refund guarantee if, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase. Your refund request has to be made within 7 days of your first purchase.
We do not offer monthly plans. You can either subscribe for one year to create an unlimited number of contests or purchase a single Premium contest. We priced our annual plans so that it is well worth your money even if you only use your subscription for a month or two.
As the account owner, you can download the receipt from your Account page. You can also edit the billing address and add more information such as a VAT number in the billing address field.
If you subscribed to an annual plan then your subscription is set to renew automatically by default. You will receive a reminder email one week prior to the renewal. You can turn off automatic renewal from your Account page.
You can view a maximum of 40 answers with the free plan. All subsequent answers (41+) will be locked and viewed with a Premium plan only.
Banks don't give details as to why they decline to process a payment. Their system can flag a transaction as a potential risk because we are based in Canada and that does not fit with your purchasing habits. You can either call your bank and ask them to authorize the transaction or you can try a different credit card. We can also send you a PayPal invoice if you request it.

Managing Contests

If you subscribed to the Enterprise plan, you can invite up to 10 colleagues to manage the account. For other plans, contests can be created and edited by one user only. You can however share the results of any contest with trusted colleagues by clicking the Share Results button on the Results page.
Yes! You can transfer your Premium account to another Facebook user through your Account Page.
Yes, we offer three different apps to create contests, contests, and quizzes respectively. You can subscribe to each app separately or subscribe to the Enterprise plan which lets you create contests, contests and quizzes from the same account. Learn more about the differences between each app.

Creating Contests

Yes! You can simply paste your YouTube URL anywhere in your contest and it will be converted to an embedded video player. See this blog post for more details.
If your terms are not too long, you can paste them directly in the introduction or footer text of your contest. Otherwise you can create a PDF file with the terms and link it to your contest. We don't offer templates or legal advice.

Publishing Contests

You can add a contest to any Facebook Page that you manage from the Publish section. Please see this detailed tutorial for more information.
You can create and post links to different contests on your page Timeline. However there can only be one contest at a time installed in your Page tab.
No. Facebook Policies strictly prohibits incentivizing participants to like a Page, share a post or tag a friend to be eligible for a promotion. You can however give participants the option to like your Page and increase their chances of winning when they refer a friend to the contest.
There is no tab integration for Groups. You can however copy your Share URL (in the Publish section) and paste it in a post on your group's Timeline. Same goes for other social platforms, including Twitter and Instagram.
The Contest app gives you the tools to share contests with your fans and friends but cannot help you target a specific audience. For this, we recommend that you create a Facebook promoted post or ad. Note that contests are public and opened to everybody. They cannot be geographically restricted.

Answering Contests

It is not technically possible to display a contest directly on the Facebook Newsfeed. Participants that click on the Timeline post are taken to your Page tab where they can fill-in the contest form.
If you shared the contest by copying the contest tab URL from your browser's address bar, then smartphone and tablet users will not be able to access the contest. To ensure that your contest can be accessed on all devices, always post the Share URL or use the sharing tools from the Publish section.
Users do not need a Facebook account to participate. However in some rare cases, a user might be asked to log in and authorize the app. This is required when the system detects a user might have already participated in the past. Learn more on how we protect your contests from scammers.
Our system uses many data points and techniques such as cookies, IP addresses, unique Facebook IDs and captchas to ensure that your contest's results are not rigged. There is no restriction for account admins, they can participate multiple times. Learn more on how we protect your contests from scammers.

Contest Results

All results are private by default. You can make results public from the Advanced Options of the Configuration section of your contest. Participants will then see the aggregated results in a bar chart on the thank you page. Learn more about the best ways to share your contest's results.
We are always improving the app and the different ways we display the results. We encourage you to see it for yourself by creating a free test contest.
Since users do not need to authorize the app to participate, the app cannot access participants Facebook profiles. Therefore any required information should be asked as a question in your contest form. You will however see participants location (country and state) based on their IP address.
We do not offer an API but you can export all answers and participants infos to an Excel file and import it in your marketing or newsletter service.
You can set a Facebook pixel ID from your Account Page and create a custom audience to target ads to contests participants. Learn more about the Facebook pixel.
